Accessible nature

As a former manager in a fish hatchery, I once encountered a dedicated angler during a delivery where I was to release fish. He was in a wheelchair and was limited to the dock that had been “adapted”. He pointed to another fly fisherman who cast his fly right into a fish rise a few hundred meters away and immediately got a bite. The guy in the wheelchair said, “When I can do that, then you’ll have succeeded in making fishing truly accessible”.

Since that day, I have been passionate about making nature as accessible as possible for everyone. It warms my heart to now be able to offer amazing nature experiences even to those who, for all or part of their lives, have been exceptions to the norm. Here, you can feel free and participate naturally on the same terms as everyone else.

For those who want to attract moose from a tower, we have an accessibility-adjusted tower for this purpose.

At our fishing location, we have an outdoor toilet designed with space for a wheelchair/walker and an accompanying person.

We provide certain assistive devices, such as wheelblades for wheelchairs, a sliding board for transfers, a mobile ramp, etc.

Transportation is provided with a six-wheeler and specially adapted cart during the off-season. Our adapted cart for the six-wheeler can transport two wheelchairs at a time and also works with benches for mixed groups.

The hide for eagle and bear watching works just as well for people with various disabilities, with no thresholds and a toilet space large enough for both a wheelchair and an accompanying person. There are no stairs leading to the hide.

If you want to know more or have specific requests or questions regarding accessibility before your visit, feel free to contact us, and we will provide more information. It is important that when making a booking, you inform us if there is anything specific we need to know about balance stability, mobility, etc., so we can provide the best possible experience
